       The reason politicians love public transport and hate cars has nothing to do with the environment or making life better, it's because they're easier to control. It's much much harder to have a "15 minute city" and climate lockdowns if anyone can just hop in a personal vehicle and go wherever they want.

       @Eiregoat @valen1 It is also so urban centric it is painful, but part of the overall plan is to remove suburbia and rural residents entirely and depend entirely on factory farming.

       @valen1 I - no shit - saw my first self driving car yesterday and it came within a few feet, like five, ten feet idk of hitting a bicyclist crossing the street at 3 - 3:30am. Actually seeing with my own eyes a car take off from a stop light with the drivers seat empty fucked me up mentally way way more than I expected it to.

       @valen1 look up how much this costs for the Swiss. I bet not many other countries can afford to spend this much money: About 3600$ and 2700$ for two all-year general fare use-all public transport tickets. Going up 5% next year. For one of the tiniest countries on earth.

Money is just a way of organizing.The question is: can a society spare the required amount of worktime and resources to maintain such a transportation system?Think outside of the current economics. The financial system will not be able to sustain itself for much longer.
