My parents can somehow get everything done if it comes to apps like Facebook but when they need to reset a password from another platform it's all unknown and scary :bloblaugh: I always let them try first before I'll fix it for them, like they did when I was younger"You try first and if it doesn't work I'll help"How the tables have turned :blobcatgiggle: :flan_hacker:

@AlejandroP In their case itās used too, FB is still overly complicated.. at least all privacy options but my parents donāt really care about that unfortunately

@stux When people tell me they have Server Angst because they don't understand how it works I briefly explain server/internet/blah, but then tell them "Think of the Fediverse as a house with many rooms. You can hear, and talk to the people in other rooms, if you like, and if their door is open. All you need to do is choose in which room you want to be, for now, and change rooms if you want to move."

@stux Interestingly different from my experience. I can sort out other platforms, but am completely bamboozled by Facebook. Literally, I don't understand what it isāall I see on a laptop screen is a mush of text boxes!

@stux my mom was a stubborn woman who would do whatever she could on her own before asking for help. When it came to technology, my brother or I were her first ports of call. She did begin to ask us sooner rather than later as she often got frustrated with it all.Dad would just leave all that sort of thing up to Mom. Now he just asks my brother if something's wrong. Mind you, he sees my brother a lot more than he does me.It was a weird change, teaching my first teacher - my mom (RIP).

@stux not for me, my grandparents called me and told me their Facebook disappeared. No they didnāt remember the password to log in again. Yes they had it written down on a paper nobody knew existed
