let me just reiterate what a blessing automatic z calibration is (voron tap; it boops the nozzle on the bed to trigger an optical switch) #3dprinting

@Mya@smashingly.gay it’s even more useful with enclosed prints (like for ABS) because the whole printer expands and deforms as it heats up. e.g. the gantry on my printer has steel linear rails screwed onto aluminum profiles, and these both expand differently so it bends towards the center of the bedi have it set to do a bed mesh (adaptive size, just the print area) before every print

@mia @Mya I do like the idea of an adaptive mesh in Klipper.

@mfraz74@mastodon.social @Mya@smashingly.gay https://github.com/kyleisah/Klipper-Adaptive-Meshing-Purging that’s what i use. the purging near the print is a nice touch (and often much more reliable than the straight line in the bed corner)
