       @KimPerales I understood why Barr sided with Trump - he was acting as his consigliere.More baffling is why Garland continued the charade that defaming a woman on a purely private matter was within the scope of his presidential duties.I suspect Garland may have just figured that he didn't want to come in and reverse everything and be attacked as partisan. If so, that didn't exactly work out, as the GOP is attacking him baselessly regardless.
