@batterpunts ok but having a friend who likes the same art (and then painstakingly reformatting the links so they work in the app for federations reasons) doesn't seem sustainable overall

@arcticwolfe @batterpunts I actually think Federation is an anti-feature. Nobody actually WANTS it, and even for people who do the necessary trade-offs it creates are basically torture.Sure it works for email but this ain't email.

@arcticwolfe @batterpunts BTW what you're supposed to be doing, apologies if you already know this, is if you find an account you:1) Open up their profile on their instance2) Go in the URL bar and copy the URL of it3) Go into your own instance and paste the URL into the search bar4) Wait too long for results5) Click the literally only one result you'll ever have, since user@instance are guaranteed unique-- god forbid it just AUTO select it6) Wait too long7) Now click Follow
