       @clive hmm i dunno about this….. or could be a learned behavior of an overwhelmingly toxic culture.Not very many places model actually positive behavior while caring about your work.

       @clive I get the burst-of-invective-as-a-relief-valve idea. Former colleague - who played sport at an international level - said it irked him when I did it until he realised I was calm and re-immersed seconds later. Interestingly, just realised that I no longer do it within earshot.Less sure about the embedding of swear words correlating with higher quality output though. Emotional involvement leads to better results - sure. But leaving stuff in sounds sloppy / juvenile...

       @clive if the quality of the code is better where there are swears, maybe the developer is struggling with code they find terse or difficult to reason with? one person’s elegant ternary operator is another’s impenetrable abstraction.
