My SO asked me why he doesn’t see #embeddedPosts from #Mastodon at his fave political crowdsource site. He does, course, see plenty of embedded tweets. Resulting conversation about protocols for embedding and supporting code to make all that happen. I’ve seen some discussion of some connective tech for share this post TO mastodon. Does “embed a mastodon toot” tech exist?

@susankitchens is embedding actually a good idea? I thought it was pushed by Twitter to track people across the internet.Embedding editable content is asking for trouble in some ways, a screenshot and a link are better in that respect.

@johnI’d mentioned to SO that All The Bigs created embedding tech, you provide background for Why (track behavior, offer better Ad info.)Then again, they may be aiming for gaining traction for their particular SoMed site. Or those are same thing.A tech-to-embed where you copy toot URL & paste it into a blog post Voila! Embed! makes it easier to share than screenshot+copy toot text for alt tag+upload picture+pasteALT+link. Latter is doable, but it’s more cumbersome in pure ease-of-use.
