The spanish netherlands had a kind of land bridge connecting them to the rest of the empire: The "spanish road." It was a network of german principalities, cities and various other political entities that owed loyalty to spain allowing spanish armies to march through.The main problem in the netherlands was that they had little representation at court so over time their interests became increasingly unaligned with the crown. That and after the expulsion edicts a lot of jews fled there and I suspect they helped fan the flames of rebellion.I'm not sure the same thing applies to kaliningrad. They're as integrated with contiguous russia as anywhere else and in close communication. If I had to guess which part of russia might break off I'd guess some of the NW asian oblasts that are functionally independant anyhow. Like tuva or something.

I have my suspicions about the banderist "genocide": The people telling the story have a long history of lying.My suspicion is that the majority of poles either fled or integrated. Pole to Ukranian is not a huge cultural leap to make.Either way I agree that Poland has little reason to expand into the Ukraine beyond "gib clay." It would be seen as a massive betrayal by the western powers they're courting.
