@22lemons They want to leave the community without these statements, they just look for an excuse. Even without telling women that personally their Nigel is bad, proper feminism describes how all men are bad for all women. It's impossible to achieve a free, uncolonized feminist consciousness while emotionally investing and being sexually available to a person who is interested in your continued subjugation. It's not "what other bad radfems said" problem, it's a fact that will be evident even if nobody tells you about it, if you're honest with yourself. The dishonest ones try to suppress all mentions of it so it's easier to lie to themselves.

@skullhoney @22lemons Nobody "is" straight, everybody goes through a conversion therapy to become one. But of course the LGB queer movement that you all stan so much saw to it that this notion is erased from feminist history and seen as the most problematic and homophobic thing ever. Love with men is not love, it's masochism, Stockholm syndrome and projection, you're already denying the real love to yourself.

@skullhoney @Mynona @22lemons The purity spirals can be so destructive, but I enjoy reading the thoughts of women dealing with their journey into feminism. I wish that it didn't usually wind up turning into feuds that drive women away, though. Everyone needs space to be right or wrong about things!

@MandyJane @skullhoney @22lemons Oh my god, it's not a purity spiral. It has nothing to do with purities or spirals. I get it, being "dirty" is cool, because postmodernism says so. Also seeing political structures and connection is very very gross because postmodernism says so. Also nobody should "tell you what to do" because brogressives say so. Also anyone "telling you what to do" is basically a hegemon. That gives people the confidence to whine about purity spirals at something that simply exposes their cognitive dissonance which they aren't ready to deal with. Feminist core ideas didn't change. Western women are actively trying to destroy feminism's reputation, yes even those who call themselves "feminists", to "allow" themselves to not change anything in their lives, to not reflect on their past and present. Then when they set the bar below the very earth, they complain that feminist standards are "unrealistic".

I'm 54 yrs old, I missed the postmodern indoctrination because I live in the middle of nowhere, and spent my youth off the internet (tbh I was also high as fuck nearly all the time). I do not know why you are reading all that into my post, but I suppose this sort of thing is what causes a lot of the drama amongst tumblr feminists. What you seem to be describing is what I think of as "pop feminism", we are all exposed to it in advertising, especially in the US. What I am suggesting is that instead of flipping out and attacking people and accusing them of listening to the brogressives, maybe helping them realize what they believe is feminism is really just clever marketing. Giving women space to be right and wrong about things is asking them to reflect. The only thing I think is "unrealistic" about feminist standards is expecting women to grasp them immediately. You are trying to inform women about issues, and you are up against some powerful psychological indoctrination. There should be some understanding! Marketing departments have spent billions of dollars putting these ideas in our heads.
