Yesterday I've found out about https://openbsd.amsterdam/. #OpenBSD folks, what is the consensus here? I'm currently using Vultr but I love smaller companies tightly integrated into community. Amsterdam checks all boxes. Can someone using their services share some experiences?

@ms @OpenBSDAms using it for more than a year, any hiccups occured were resolved super fast and thoroughly. Running bunch of 'usual' and handmade services there, even with default cpu/mem it all works properly. If I need to expand I'll probably just get more vms there :D

@ms I have nothing but good things to say about the service and the people running it.I'm not using my openbsd.ams server in a critical production role, but it's stable and works as expected. Updates to latest OpenBSD releases happen in a timely manner and are always communicated in advance so you can prepare for the downtime.For me, the important part is that this is an indirect way to help the foundation and at the same time have a 100% pure OpenBSD setup.

@OpenBSDAms I'm looking for "stop, they have 0,000002% uptime" or something. Other than that, I'll reserve a vps - most likely later today :-)

@OpenBSDAms ok, so last question before booking: what are the bandwidth limits? I can't find in your site.

@OpenBSDAms Fair :-)I'm currently at 1.2GB this month according to Vultr. I don't plan a movie-streaming service :-)

@vid I host a static blog. Even in case of Hacker New, 1CPU is enough :-)

@jj I've already bought my account there and I will move all my services to @OpenBSDAms. Nothing critical, so the risk is close to zero.I don't think they are "expensive". Yes, I could get a free VPS on Amazon - but then I would need to punch myself in the face. Vultr/Linode cost about the same for similar hardware.

@ms Its not like dealing with a large corporation or data center. You email Mischa, he sets up your machine, you log in. Everything runs like clockwork. Youll be emailed when updates are happening. Low drama, high stability.
