Hi #emacs people! Can someone give me some resources on #orgroam? It doesn’t quite stick with me and I feel like I don’t understand it.Some resources touching Zettelkästen would also be appreciated. Anything goes, although I tend to prefer text format.

@alecui its a thin layer of sqlite on top of org-mode. you put it in charge of a directory of org files and it scans them for cross references, stores them in a db, and you can pull up a little view where it shows backlinks from the db.

@icedquinn I know the principle behind it and how it works, I don’t get the workflow (which is why I asked for Zettelkästen resources too). I’m trying to set it up in the meanwhile on Spacemacs to try it again.

@alecui there isn't much to say or write about them. the whole system is based around 3x5 index cards in a shoebox."literary" cards are basically reader's notes for individual articles. the other kind of card basically cites the literary ones to summarize a particular topic at the time it was made. i call these hubs but it's not their common name.there is a number indexing scheme for the cards but we don't use it digitally anymore. there is one piece of older java software that manages zettel cards that does, i forgar the name.https://iceworks.cc/z/ckfn0uulm0000dpis77lzuyr4.htmlread a paper/book/article, make a text file out of it. occasionally string references to those files together in a "higher level" note. that's all it is.

@alecui :blobcatgoogly: tracing jits are surprisingly effective for their relatively low amount of complexity.

@alecui vim user here, I use vimwiki with #zettelkasten for my notes. You could probably check @chrisaldrich accoxnt, and his website. @ellane toots a lot about plain text notes, #ObsidanMD and other things around it. Follow some hashtags like :#pkm#secondbrain #zettelkasten #NotesToSelf #notesart

@hydeI stated taking notes in a more systematic and kind of holistic way along with my new job.Doing it with #Neorg in #Nvim which replaced my #VimWiki a long time ago.I'd love to see more about your #Vim workflow 👀
