@Kennyben What are you lining it with?While my pond is a bit larger, I found a pump kept it aerated and put Koi in it. It worked well until the rains flooded the area and the Koi went downstream.The pump also helped keep algae and grasses from growing

@Arthur_500 so my big pond doesn’t have a liner, it’s concrete. That has an aerator and huge pumps and filters.This one will be pond less, and have a double liner. There will be a catch basin in that big hole and a pump that pumps it back up to the top.

@Peaceandprosperity we’ve had a koi pond with waterfall for over 20 years. The upkeep is minimal. We run a aerator year round, in the spring we hook up the filtration system. That you have to clean monthly.Husband made a covering for the pond out of wood and screens. He puts that on the fall when we turn the waterfall off. This keeps the leaves out. The pond is under 2 trees. In the spring he does a major cleanup and we are good for the season.Do it!
