       @aras are you considering adding link aggregation on gamedev.place?

       @gorlak what is link aggregation?

       @aras it’s what they call Reddit/Digg style sites. There are a couple that are open and operate fediverse style, interop with mastodon: lemmy, kbin, fedia.io

       @gorlak so that’s some additional software that someone has to run somewhere, that does… <something>? what for?

       @aras check out https://kbin.social as an example. Ideally one of these would tightly integrate with the mastodon instance. So you could see a ranked view of mastodon post content… I think. I’m still wrapping my head around it myself.

       @gorlak so anyone who wants can run it and point it at this instance? Does it have to be “integrated” in any way at all?

       @aras I think so, but how it connects isn't super clear to me. It's connected somehow, check this out: https://kbin.social/u/@gorlak@mastodon.gamedev.place.... and the people pages on kbin.social seem to use mastodon style usernames. Maybe that's ActivityPub?

       Lemmy is basically federated reddit. It got a lot more popular recently, but I can’t say why. Yes, it works on activitypub much like mastodon and peertube.
