       I finally found the words for why "chivalry" always feels so hostile.It's a way of physically thought-stopping and skill-blocking women, under the guise of being "nice."It constantly interrupts women as they try to just move around in space, attempting to force them to re-adapt their behavior to suit the man as he supposedly "demonstrates his respect."It dumbs things down, or even just removes access to learning or achievement entirely, as men push their way into any situation where a  woman is attempting to gain or demonstrate a skill, claiming they just want to help her by "taking it off her plate."It keeps women idle and constantly distracted, and over the course of a lifetime, results in a tremendous disadvantage of skills and independence. And despite all their cries of "just being nice guys," this doesn't seem to benefit anyone but men.And if you have the audacity to notice this and tell them to stop, they act like a victim and cry about how no one appreciates "nice guys" anymore.Lessons from the boatyard.
