       The very idea of “ghost cities” was based around a western capitalist understanding of China, as if it’s inexplicable to Westerners that the Chinese government would plan long-term development for social need rather than business owners. It should be noted that unlike most places in the western world, 70% of Chinese Millenials are homeowners.
