I admit I am not participating here [or on Bluesky] as much as I used to in the old days on those other platforms . I’m ok with that. But I realized that the difference is when I do participate and share my thoughts here, I get genuine conversation and thoughtful responses. In recent years my posts on Twitter were often met with silence. It just now hit me how the cacophony & attention seeking nature of Tweets set my expectations of actual conversation so very low. So much nicer here 🙏

@ninavizz Aww 👋Yeah - the attention seeking is fine and appropriate [i guess] for youngins and those in media - but at this point in my life as an end to itself it’s just exhausting and a sign of “not being hugged enough as a child”

@debs It's a different kind of attention seeking it seems, than the more fun early-days attention seeking... y'know? Like competing to be Mayor of different bathroom stalls at Austin airport on FourSquare, kinda remains one of my favs. <3
