There's a bug with media attachments after the upgrade. The thumbnails look too small sometimes. We maintain our own custom code to support more than four attachments, for improved compatibility with Pleroma and others, and it has to be updated to keep up with changes upstream. Sometimes, this doesn't always go right. We're aware of the issue.

@LaoBan i wish Eugen would just get over his obsession with limiting us to four attachments. it's NOT a part of the ActivityPub standard. and sometimes, god forbid, you might need five pictures to illustrate an idea...

@LaoBan also, this idea that you can't attach anything else if there is a GIF or video. that's ALSO not a part of the standard.also, you're not allowed to have a poll with pictures attached.thing is, if you make such a post from Pleroma, with GIFs and pictures together, and a poll, Mastodon will display it correctly.it just doesn't let you create such a post. which is stupid if you ask me.

@LaoBan some very basic patches let you bypass these limitations, and barely any changes are needed to the server side. most of it is just JavaScript code that prevents you from doing that. the server handles it just fine. so it's just rules that Mastodon made up.
