       it's strange how gary numan managed to be such a hit in the late 70s, like, it doesn't seem like music the general public would be into, yet  he went big time and got to do big time live performances (with really aesthetic stage designs imo)the only thing i don't envy him for is peaking during that era and being on a slow decline since

       @7666 I've always found Gary Numan to be an interesting phenomenon too honestly, I'm glad I'm not alone in that. I personally don't love him but he was always kinda fascinating to me for that reason. But I guess like https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tubeway_Army says, "they were the first band of the electronic era to have a synthesizer based number one hit", so that's a claim to fame for him. Plus he's got a big cult following now and still tours, he and KANGA were on tour together.
