When I see something I want to take action on — back a GoFundMe, listen to a podcast, watch a video, buy a book, and so on — I bookmark it and do it later.I'm curious how other people remember things like that. Do you ...

@grammargirl I send promising articles to Pocket, since it can be accessed from phone and desktop. And it's great that it hosts a copy of the content in case the site goes down. If I remember to read those saved articles, I copy their URL into a huge text file and write a note why I think that article should be kept for posterity.Videos go to Youtube's "Watch Later".But honestly, about 80% of the content I bookmark to read later ends up never actually being read.

@grammargirl Isn’t this why browsers have tabs?

@grammargirl I tend to note it down in a file called "notes". And usually mark completed things with a ✔ and in-progress ones with a →Here's a little screenshot of the section for TV series to watch.

@grammargirl Bookmark it to do it later, and then it gets lost in the morass of bookmarks and is never seen again.

@grammargirl It's a mix, mainly because it gives me space to avoid (ex) impulse purchases or quick reactions that don't look at the bigger picture

@grammargirlI have impulse control issues, so bookmarking allows me to put any action in a "timeout" to give me time to process needs vs. wants vs. somedays.

@grammargirl My desk is adrift in post-it notes, cryptic scrawling on a legal tablet and then there's the "notes" app on my computer. It's a wonder I get anything accomplished.

@grammargirl I think we all win in our one ways. I am what can be considered on the more creative side, however, not wanting to limit myself to only one method of action. I am not arguing against the keep-it-simple stuff: I was just saying that is not how my brain works.

@grammargirl I suspect Grammar Girl’s real goal was to post a poll about procrastination. It turns out 90% of us are procrastinators, while 10% of us (“do it right away”) are habitual liars.

@grammargirl I leave the browser tab open ‘til the end of time. This is how I learned that Safari for iOS can have a maximum of 500 browser tabs open at once; after that, we have to start a new tab group. I … may have several tab groups.
