Re: today's drama.I've been writing about Ubuntu for 14 years, and using it for 15. This distro literally changed my life. So it's bizarre to find myself being labelled a "hater" and a "troll" just because I've dared say I'm not 100% in agreement with something Ubuntu plans to doOne upon a time discussion, debate, and even disagreement were healthy products of diverse community discourse.When did Ubuntu become a cult?

@omgubuntu it didn't, but wherever there are many users, a number of very loud few, will make things look worse than they are.Been using Ubuntu since 2006. There are a lot of things I like about it, there are a few things I don't. Snaps for *some* desktop apps I really don't. So I found myself downloading their deb versions. I still use Ubuntu, I still love it and I still think Canonical folks are some of the most awesome people I ever worked with.The rest is noise.

@lzap I made some toots about snaps being less popular than Flatpak, and wrote a blog post questioning the need for Ubuntu to retool its installer so people install more snap apps. Neither went down will with some Ubuntu stans/employees.

@omgubuntu @mesebrec @minkiu @lzap I used lot of distro, switched to Arch few years ago for desktop. Snaps definitively kill Ubuntu, in my habits. For server, I will follow loved Debian instead of Ubuntu now.
