Consider updating your story settings to make sure new friends can see what you share & anyone who you’ve fallen out of touch with no longer sees dispatches from your life.Go to the Stories tab at the bottom of your phone > click your profile icon > Story Privacy > curate your list however you like.

@signalapp For me, Stories is just weird. I've tried using it a few times, without any success. It just doesn't feel like it belongs in a chat app. And with all the contacts in my list, I have yet to see any of them use Stories.It just feels forced, almost like an act of desperation to compete with Instagram.The rest of the app is rock solid though, and I love using it. Just not Stories.

@signalapp To add some positivity to all the negativity in the comments - I absolutely love the stories feature thank you for adding it! When every app adds stories that we don’t want - messaging was the one place I wanted to be able to post temporary updates, to just my contacts and no “feed”, without it being an ad infested app filled with other garbage. This is exactly that!!!

@signalapp I'm so thankful for stories! After I stopped using Meta products, I told everyone that this is the only way I'm posting about my life. Opinions may differ, but I think it's pretty close to the best possible implementation. I trust Signal for posting moments of my personal life! ♥️

@signalapp I don't use Stories.I communicate by text, sometimes pictures, audio calls, video calls.Signal is not Instagram or whatever egotrip social network.Completely useless feature, I believe Signal is not the right place for that.

There are a lot of anti-stories comments here and I just want to add a counterbalance. I actually like stories not many in my contact uses it that much, but I can see it becoming more used in the future. Rather than sharing memes directly into chats where people might be annoyed at the disruption, I think it's useful as a lower priority method of sharing content with friends.@signalapp

@signalapp It's so, so, so sad to see all that self-centered whining in the replies here and literally everywhere else.So, to add a positive reaction, I'm happy to tell you that Stories have made ot easier for me to stay in contact with my friends, by sharing memes and quick shots as Stories. That way, we don't annoy each other with notifications for unimportant stuff everyday, and it reduces the “need to reply” that regular messages create.So, thanks for creating such an awesome feature :)

@signalapp I’ve never really understood why Signal needs Story in the first place. However, I only have the need to communicate with my family and friends through the app.
