@stux I wonder if it will be possible in the future by migrating your Threads account to a Mastodon account?If the migration is enabled, I'm really curious how that will work with the connection to Instagram.

@stux Iām honestly surprised that Zuck didn't make it so that if you have a Facebook account you're automatically joined to Instagram and Threads and can't leave without leaving all three.

@stux when FB integrated all their various codebases about five years ago, they told the US government that it was for easier management and security. What they really did was tie everything together so that profiles were permanent, cross-site sharing was a default, and so on.

@stux The only reason I had to sign up was to make sure no one could take my username. When I saw it was already reserved because of Instagram, I didn't go through with it.

@stux question - if you have an Instagram account, does this mean you automatically have a Threads account, whether you want one or not? I don't want one. Even if I am now automatically signed up for it, I'm not going to use it. It's just going to sit there, unused and unloved.Man, that's sad to think if! š
