       If Threads can coerce the existing Facebook userbase into a giant platform immediately, with tens or hundreds of millions of users, what are the odds they’d reconsider decentralization and say fuck ActivityPub, full speed ahead?Pretty good, I’d say.Let’s face it, most people neither understand nor care about decentralization, and they’ll gladly sign on to another centralized über-network if it feels familiar. No matter how much of their personal data is being pilfered for profit.

       @Green_Footballs I agree, and that is why the whole block #Threads was silly to begin with. People who wanted decentralized SM already joined here. They do not need us but if they had started with ActivityPub it would be harder to drop it later.
