@DW2 In fairness, a mcdonalds is a totally, VASTLY different thing in shithole locales. If you’ve never lived like that, then you really don’t have the frame of mind to understand what it’s like for a virgin brain accustomed to gruel, wheat, eggs, and plain home cooking to be subjected to clean, tidy, upper class mcdonald’s chock full of addictive secret goyslop stimulants. @leespringfield1903 @DW2 Yeah, dudes who haven’t left the country can’t really understand until they live it themselves. When I’d pick up new NGO kids I’d usually stop by mcdonald’s since it would be a rare trip into the cities for me (when I was lucky enough to be THAT close to civilization) They’d always stick their nose up and laugh until they noticed it was way, WAY higher quality than back home. It’s a premium offering in 2nd/3rd world countries, simple as. One group ended up hiring me to help them w/ their exit once, the weren’t even in the country for half a year but still gushed with relief when they saw the golden arches. A few months of living on humble beans, rice, and canola oil does a number on your taste buds, I guess. (though kudos to the charity for not letting them live it up like most)
