Fun fact: sunscreen is an estrogenic. It makes you gay. That’s why the news keeps telling you to put it on every time you walk outside.I never wear sunscreen and rarely sunburn. You develop a resistance.

@Cosmic I use it if we are vacationing in FL, so maybe one week per year. Even then it's only the time in actually on the beach.

@mhjohnson You can probably get past the first day by just moderating your time in sunlight, such that you add 5 minute shade breaks in every ~30 minutes. A big, wide haf and sunglasses will help prevent facial sun burns too, which are the most painfulI never used sunscreen this year. Maybe got some VERY mild sunburn on my shoulders that I only took note of, was not pained by. I am now as tan as a MexicanTolerance is probably behavioral not genetic.

@Cosmic There are genetic issues involved. Here is something from the NIH that describes skin types.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK321117/I am in the IV category.I don't think I needed sunscreen this year as well. I have a couple bottles that generally sit unused and are probably "expired".
