@critical@blob.cat I think the main reason is that Threads is being marketed as an alternative to Twitter so we're going to end up with the hell-hole joining here

@critical several reasons...- They had meetings under NDA with big fedi instances- People are worried about their private data- There are rumors that they pay selected instances to federate, which could lead to multiple outcomes- There are rumors that they wana implement federated ads

@icedquinn @critical true, but on the other hand, i dont trust them too and since they are the first top 500 company joining the fediverse with such a background, people are more aware to privacy than usual and tbh they should be... sometimes i think, people have wrong expectations when they post public

@icedquinn @Jain @critical I am fine with someone reading and using my open-source project. Selling my project, however, is a different matter. The same applies to my public posts. While I do not mind Facebook employees reading them, I would prefer not to help Facebook earn more money.
