I'm a little bit tired of people "threaten with moving" if i don't do as they say..I got one message for them..MOVE :cat_hug_triangle: If you're not happy with the instance you can always move somewhere else, no hard feelings ❤️ Or setup your own instance, even better :blobcatgiggle: But stop with "threating" to do X or Y..

@stux remind me of when i saw this older couple yelling at a minimum wage retail worker that they were "taking their business to Amazon!" because they were asked to wear a mask. Absolutely no fucks given.

You'll see how many manipulative people you've got around you.It's funny.. the number of people, including actors, who threatened to move to Canada if so-and-so got elected.. yet here they are, still in the U.S... because all their bluster was a disingenuous as, well, the so-and-so who got elected.It's mostly noise. The people who do it are not worth your time.You're doing the right thing.. But you could put a note on each of their accounts regarding this, as a reminder of who is fully truthful, and who is not.

@stux if they really think fb wants there data so bad what makes them think it hasn't already started up instances under a different name on the fediverse. It's a billion dollar company, they could be running instances all over the fediverse and we would never know. But as soon as that meta name gets slapped on it everyone's hair catches fire. This is still social media people. Your data is not private from the big corporations or the government here or anywhere else.

@stux Mastodon isn’t Twitter. Admins don’t get paid for your subscriber numbers or views or clicks. In fact, less users on a properly federate server means less work for the admin that spends his own free time managing the instance without sacrificing content. Someday people will wake up to the fact that the world does t revolve around them, and they are going to be deeply disappointed.You are a boon to all of Mastodon, Stux. I like it here. 😁I don't like Meta or the fact that they want a foothold in the fediverse, but I'll try to focus on the good points.
