       It look like Meta is about to join the ActivityStream fediverse.  The usual suspects are reeeing and putting together a "pact" to  block all the gauche unclean Facebook users out of "their" "space". I for one will welcome to the Fediverse all my elderly family members who know how to post cute and heartwarming pictures to "The Facebook". Despite them having zero idea what I mean when I say "fediverse".

       @mark I've also been seeing a lot of wibbling about Facebook hoovering up all the tasty, tasty data for purposes vile.Evidently people have a lot of curious ideas about how secure ActivityPub/the Mastodon API actually *are*.

       @cerebrate indeed.  IT's far easier to slurp up someones or everyone's fediverse data then it is to get their Twitter or Meta data.
