How do we feel about this?I say bad news for Twitter, bad news for Blue Sky. A non-issue for Mastodon. The tech-centric people here will never go for a Meta product.

@briannawu If by bad for Bluesky you mean that it will likely grow faster, I can agree with that. I'm not entirely sure people on Bluesky will be interested in moving over, though. It seems that people who have large followings will determine the winner(s). So many people are still against Mastodon. Bluesky (and also Post) is still very small and somewhat limited. Twitter will be Twitter until it is shut down or shuts down. There is an open door for something new, not sure if this is it yet.

@briannawu It’s bad news for Twitter, possibly bad news for Blue Sky, but I’m still not sure Threads is going to take off in the end. A lot of young people I know online don’t like Threads, and would rather go to BlueSky than Meta.Threads being ActivityPub compatible has created some issues between Mastodon instances, but having been around here since March 2019, I’ve seen the Fediverse survive worse drama.
