       An unintended casualty of the twitter mess is that I now have to go to freaking facebook if I want to see if the local fireworks are on or off due to the rain.

       @jerry it’s true. Governments of all sizes are conservative and will wait to try to figure out how to “do Mastodon” (@EU_Commission vexing an exception!), so it’ll be a while before the municipalities, local community associations, etc. migrate from Facebook or wherever.
