Yes, a sentence predicting machine in a web doc site is a terrible idea, calling it ‘AI’ is too. (And yes, so was the crypto stuff they tried a while back)Let's also acknowledge though, how the money in tech flows in ways that makes it hard to sustain such web doc sites (and easier to sustain all the stuff the money flows more easily to). MDN is underfunded and understaffed. Neither are an excuse, but maybe a reason to cut them *some* slack? They make a unique and great site.

Other browser companies are definitely building, funding and/or including the chatbotty thingies into their own products. At least a lot of Mozilla's AI investments were into for-the-greater-good things like Common Voice, to build open source voice technology. In any case, I hope they don't decide to put the chatbot back into MDN, I too think it will harm more than it will help.
