How are the NATO countries doing in reaching the 2 percent goal for defense spending? The slowest to approach the target will be Slovenia, Denmark, and Belgium. However, the supreme underperformer remains Luxembourg. https://icds.ee/en/defence-spending-who-is-doing-what/

@minkonto Iceland has a special deal where they essentially outsourced their national defense to the U.S. in exchange for unlimited access to Keflavik. I'm not sure how to count that.

@minkonto @ricoroswallpedersen No. I’m not sure what you are confused about. Iceland has a special bilateral agreement with the U.S. in written format signed by the presidents sometime in the 1950s about this. Denmark does not. It’s not the same.

@nerdd @anderspuck @ricoroswallpedersen der er ingen forpligtigelse - det er en løs aftale om engang at nå de to procent. Den eneste måde det bliver en forpligtigelse er hvis USA ændrer det, så de kun vil forsvare lande hvis man ikke yder 2% - dermed vil de opløse hele NATO,
