@A_Research_Guru I've missed my local Twitter community but my stress level is down SO much since coming here. I spend way less time doom scrolling and have been reading so many more books. A few good news follows off the top of my head are @GottaLaff and @Teri_Kanefield. There are some bot accounts that scrape Twitter, like @nwsboise_bot, but I don't know if those will last with Elmo's latest shitshow.

@A_Research_Guru Do know that Mastodon.social is one of the more buggy servers because so many people are on it. But it's not hard to migrate between servers and bring your followers and follows with you.

@A_Research_Guru @IdahoLark At some point you may want to make some lists for folks or interests you follow who don't post often. That way you don't have to scroll much or miss a post you might like. Like one for NDN, another for places of particular interest, one for a health issue, ...Some of your followings may not use hashtags, so posts may not show up in a hashtag search.

@A_Research_Guru @ArrowbearMoore You can tap the bell symbol on a person's profile to get notified when someone you don't want to miss posts something. Otherwise, I just make lists like I did on Twitter. Those aren't shareable yet, unfortunately, but I'm told it will be a feature soon.

@A_Research_Guru @ArrowbearMoore Just know that this is not identical to Twitter. Right now you can't search for terms, which is supposedly to protect us from trolls. Nobody from Boise is live-posting meetings here, which is a bummer. No local journalists are here, either.
