@Radical_EgoCom Capitalism might exist in a better state if not for the “humans” running the show. If elements like pay decent livable, even better than just livable wages, share the wealth, social safety nets, affordable health care, pensions so you don’t have to work till you drop, and big time caps on individual wealth plowed back to society it might work. However the problem is people, temptation, corruption and virtually any economic system you want to choose.

@Huntn00 The problem is the system. Capitalism is inherently exploitative. It relies on a small group of people keeping all of the products that 99% of workers created just because the government says it's ok, and only gives those workers a fraction of the products of their labor back in the form of money, money of which they have to use to buy the things they need to survive, and if they are lacking of enough money then they'll be denied the basic necessities of life and will either die or be forced to resort to a life of crime. It doesn't matter how "nice" a capitalist is in the same way that it didn't matter how "nice" a slave owner was or how "nice" a feudal Lord was, because it was the socioeconomic structure of their societies that was the problem, just as it is now.

> Capitalism is inherently exploitative.Maybe humans are inherently exploitative? It can't be coincidence that all social systems so far basically are evolution of competition and exploitation.

all social systems so far basically are evolution of competition and exploitation. Not true. Most of the pre-colonial social systems were keeping balance between competition and cooperation. Some were radically cooperative. You, and other participants here, may be interested in a book Anarchy Works by by Peter Gelderloos, largely dealing with this topic.

@Radical_EgoCom What capitalism eliminates is self-sufficiency. A few are able to maintain or regain it but they are exceptions.

Self-sufficiency is a red herring. Show me a person and I will show you three ways they are interdependent with humanity. What capitalism does it to narrow the scope of social relations to money/commodity exchanes and then to pretend that having money means independence. Logically, all kinds of (inter)depence are then considered inferior to that mythical state of "independence".In reality we are all interdependent it space and time. Some people deny it, some use money as a way to obtain help, some cultivate communities of various kind.

@8petros @michaelgraaf @Radical_EgoCom reminds me of very rich people worried about their staff in their end-of-the world bunker. So close to recognizing their interdependence, but not quite getting the root cause problem.

Oh, yes. I have it bookmarked. Finally, the CEO of a brokerage house explained that he had nearly completed building his own underground bunker system and asked, “How do I maintain authority over my security force after the event?”https://onezero.medium.com/survival-of-the-richest-9ef6cddd0cc1
