       It took 48 hours for me to be fully on-board with @joplinapp as my note-taking app of choice on every device I own.

       @vees @joplinapp Joplin is pretty good. I used to use it before I switched to Obsidian.

       @benhaube What's better about Obsidian?

       @vees I prefer the UI because it looks more modern and you can customize it with themes. The plugins available for it are nice to have. Finally, the biggest difference is the data visualization graph in Obsidian. As someone with a visual memory it is helpful to me. If you don't think you need the data visualization features and all you do is basic note taking, then I would say either one will be about the same for you. Joplin is still really good.

       @benhaube seems like I could also write Joplin plug-ins if I were so inclined?

       @vees Yeah, I just looked it up and it looks like they do have a repository of plugins now.

       @vees @joplinapp I switched from Evernote to Joplin recently as well and it was a very smooth transition. Took me longer to setup syncthing than it did to setup and get used to Joplin. It feels much nicer to be on a fully open source and more secure setup.
