I've been wanting to dual boot my #MacBook with Linux again but I read that #Apple's M1 doesn't really go with #Linux :sadlinux: Is there a work around already or..? VM also works but I'd rather dualboot :kali_linux:

@stux I do believe Asahi is the only practical option for Macs. I can't say personally how well it works though because I don't own a Mac. From what I saw from it though some stuff works while some is WIP but it has certainly matured overtime and I expect it will continue to over time. You can see what is and isn't supported here to make a judgement on if it's usable for you in it's current state. https://github.com/AsahiLinux/docs/wiki/Feature-Support

@stux The M1 seems to be reasonably well supported with Asahi Linux. @marcan and the Asahi team seem to be doing a great job of getting stuff working.Almost enough to make me want to break a lifetime's habit and buy some Apple hardware.

@stux what’s weird is I’m writing Mint to a usb drive literally right now trying different ones on my old PC and read the same thing about M1 a few minutes ago ðŸ˜

@stux @MagicLike @AsahiLinux it’s based on the arm fork of arch Linux so the available packages are based on that. That said I think marcan was looking to change that

@stux @MagicLike @AsahiLinux I think you can use the Asahi boot stuff to install other distros that support arm64I think OpenBSD works too, but that’s a whole other ball of wax 😆

@stux i'm from the intel gang but i would like to help you. there is a distro called asahi but probably works without gpu hardware accelation. also x86 apps on arm linux runs with box86/64.
