Google SREs can read GMail users' email/chat: https://www.gawker.com/5637234/gcreep-google-engineer-stalked-teens-spied-on-chats .You lose control of data the second it leaves your computer. It's best to assume any sort of thing could happen to it and to operate accordingly.
