@Migueldeicaza missed the part where we explain that our modifications are made available first in CentOS Stream (with the exception of CVEs which should be simultaneous)Seriously people, what's with choosing Red Hat as your punching bag and spreading FUD?https://mastodon.social/@Migueldeicaza/110626480082763652

Me and many redhatters are pretty transparent with the fact that we don't like how the transition to CentOS Stream was implemented nor communicated (and that we broke a promise with the recent changes). But trying to twist things into arguing that we don't distribute modifications, not just to RHEL subscribers, but to the entire planet is downright disingenuous.

@aruiz @Migueldeicaza This message seems to indicate that there are RHEL updates that bypass CentOS Stream if CentOS has progressed past that release: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/REJ56VKMCBWTQR6VK6ECVGZ322WSP4PH/Is that not the case?

@jamesh @Migueldeicaza CentOS Stream is a rolling release, but it is where all our downstream patches land first, if we remove a downstream patch is because it either went upstream or it is not needed anymore.By the way, you will not trigger anyone by getting a free RHEL subscription and extracting the .patch file from the srpm and redistribute it, most likely you get a pat on the back if you land it upstream.

@aruiz @jamesh rolling release, got it, so not the same. Funny how it rhymes with “roll the dice”.Which is not what centos was. Kudos to the business people at Red Hat that sucked up CentOS, repurposed it and now are peddling a turd gold plated by PR.

@Migueldeicaza @aruiz @jamesh CentOS wasn't in their best shape when Red Hat acquired it and was repurposed after more than half a decade, so isn't fair to say that all was part of an evil plan to "kill it".The thing is, neither the old CentOS nor the other RHEL clones had shown the claimed value they add to RHEL and Red Hat, in contrast with CentOS Stream and Fedora that do. Why a company should continue funding something that not only doesn't add value to it but even is a net negative?

@javierm @aruiz @jamesh they can do whatever they want, and we will call this out and explain the company strategy. Easy see?
