Abstract art of ginkgo biloba leaves. Apparently the ginkgo tree first appeared over 290 million years ago!Artwork is here - https://peggy-collins.pixels.com/featured/ginkgo-biloba-leaves-abstract-art-peggy-collins.html#ginkgo #trees #leaves #green #nature #natureart #art #artist #abstract #AYearForArt #MastodonArt #FediGiftShop #MastoArt #FediArt #BuyIntoArt #PeggyCollins

@peggycollins In the town where I studied dendrology (tree identification) among other things, there was one gingko tree and were foresworn NOT to include any gingko leaves on assignments. I've seen a lot more of them in the decades since, but they're pretty much all of a size that you can span with your hands.But. If you go to the Netherlands, and you go to Maastricht, and you go to the Dominicanen bookshop (set in a centuries-old cathedral)...in a quite courtyard beside the cathedral bookstore there an alcove with a gingko tree that has a DBH of around 10 inches, as I recall. It's the most magnificent gingko I've ever seen. 🙂
