@CSB I've been happy wih my Netgear Nighthawk, but there may be better stuff out there. You can load VPN on it on some models with some vpn's.

@CSB As an IT security professional I purchased the Netgear Nighthawk Internet router. It met my two strict criteria when purchasing: 1) I could get it at WalMart immediately and 2) It was in stock.

@CSB I'd have to go in the basement and look at it, or pull up it's management page which is like work, but it does look like this and the price point is the same:netgear.com/home/wifi/routers/rax30/Consumer wifi is generally crap and the radios burn themselves out fairly quickly (a few years tops) but business stuff is...crazy.

@CSB I've been happy with my older Synology router, the new one has better specs.I like the access rules so I can limit user access etc for my children. https://www.synology.com/en-global/products/RT6600ax

@CSB @Circuit_deCrap Forget all-in-one consumer routers.Separate your router from your access point.Example professional access point:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09TX6W8H1?tag=historycomput-20

@RayGun @CSB I have to agree. I've got the UDM SE and a Unifi U6-Enterprise AP and it is amazing. Wifi 6E for the win!

@CSB I know a lot of people don't like Netgear, but I've been happy with them. The more expensive models in the $300 range. I've only bought 3 in the last 15 years and only to upgrade the wireless capability, they never quit on me.
