       I noticed the CPU runs 10 degrees hotter with my optimized version of the code. How to tell if your CPU pipeline is stalled - see if the fans are spinning fast.

       @niconiconi@mk.absturztau.be the more actual calculation, the more heat on the coresnow I wonder if there's usually a temperature sensor on memory controllers

       @ignaloidas @niconiconi Used to be only found on, e.g. commercial grade ECC DIMMs. But I believe my non-ECC DIMMs in my current build also have them. Can't check right now.

       @mikemol@pony.social @niconiconi@mk.absturztau.be I meant the memory controller in the CPUAFAIK temperature sensors on the DIMMs have been standard for a while now

       @ignaloidas@not.acu.lt @mikemol@pony.social Both Intel and AMD CPUs have counters built directly into the IMC for measuring DRAM traffic if that's what you want...

       @niconiconi@mk.absturztau.be @mikemol@pony.social nah, counters are counters, I want a temperature side-channel 😄
