Heading out into June gloom and back to SF. There hasn't been a sleeping car 1440 on the Coast Starlight for a very long time. I love this spindly tree at the San Luis Obispo Amtrak Station. I think it's a wild poinsettia. As long as I can remember, 15 years at least, it's been there and always has at least one red flower on it. I really appreciate that Amtrak moved the sleeper cars to the back of the Coast Starlight so the view on the horseshoe is better. Also, we left SLO just now 50 minutes late but somehow Amtrak thinks they're going to get into LA 20 minutes early.
