Too many people worked too hard on these shows and movies for them to be gone forever.Even shows I watched as a kid can still be found *somewhere*. Now a show that doesn't do blockbuster numbers in its first season gets wiped from existence as if it had never been made.We're losing pieces of our cultural heritage just so some billionaire can line his pockets with money he could never hope to spend.

@tess Is the tax write-off that by removing the show, they can claim lost revenue that they would've gotten from selling it? It seems like it should be pretty easy to close this loophole if we wanted to. Or make it so you have to give the assets to the Library of Congress when you do this.

@tess Copyright is so fundamentally broken that's it's purpose now is solely *prevent* it's actual purpose from happening.I support the idea of copyright, but perhaps not as much for corporations as individuals. A sane duration of 10 years would be reasonable.The contract that we the people grant a creator monopoly for a time in exchange for public use after that period....when 'we' the public granting that contract will literally be dead before we see that 'benefit' is truly insane.At least, music/movies we can get the 'source'. With video games the source code, even though copyrighted - is never available.
