@sotolf @benjaminhollon @CharismaticBatman I never owned a DMG. But the GBC is much improved with a backlight. I owned one of those for like. Ever. And then one day in my twenties it disappeared. So sad. I still cry about it. Most the handheld games I play are on an old NDS :nintendo_seal: it cant play GBC games though so one day I plan on dropping the $250 to get the backlit upgrade of my old purple GBC.

I've been mostly playing on my 3ds lately, since it can emulate the other systems quite well with custom firmware, so that's pretty cool, just a bit annoying that the shoulder buttons are broken, so I'm a bit limited with some games, it seems almost every system I have have something broken on them :p On my switch the left joystick doesn't really register up and down anymore :p

@sotolf @benjaminhollon @CharismaticBatman Yeah the DS light and all subsequent models could play all the way to GBC I believe, but the original Nintendo DS could only play GBA games.hehe yeah I'm always collecting duplicates of gaming systems so that I can use parts to help keep mine running.

@benjaminhollon @twizzayP.S.,It simply cannot be understated how huge of a revelation the N64 was. It blew EVERYTHING else out of the water.The PSX could actually push more polygons, but didn't look nearly as good for technical reasons I don't remember (check out Modern Vintage Gamer's video on the PSX graphics issues if you're curious).The NeoGeo was (I think) the very first 3D console, the PSX was the first HIT 3D console, but the N64 felt like it was two years ahead of the game.They used actual sgi hardware, so the graphics, while limited polygons-per-second-wise, looked freaking incredible.People actually thought the N64 had full-screen antialiasing, where it actually just had better texture interpolation than the PSX (I forget the actual term), and it did a simple 1-pixel horizontal blur to make everything appear smooth. XD
