#Bloomscrolling The variety of these dahlia amaze me. All from seed and growing like max.

@LisaSpartan beautiful. if you plant seeds, rather than the expensive dry roots they sell, do they bloom the first year?

@AdrianRiskin Yes! I bought everything from Baker’s Heirloom seed and had very good luck.

@LisaSpartan OMG thank you! I've only ever grown really boring dahlias from seed and just assumed I had to buy plants to get the very fancies.

@Colby I started them indoors in Feb. here in MI. I needed to re-pot them a few times. Moved them outside around Mother’s Day. Yes, they bloomed first year but I’m not sure if they will produce a bulb to save now???? I never have luck overwintering them, so this may be a solution.

@LisaSpartan thank you! My overwintering efforts largely failed too and so I’d given up on dahlias. Time to try again - with seeds!
