@troubledturtle @rhyse Limestone is Calcium carbonate and electrolyzing it breaks up the carbonate into CO2 also you’re putting in electricity which has to come from somewhere . Yeah Calcium hydroxide absorbs CO2 and outs out heat while doing so . So if done industrially , like cement production you’ll probably end up doubling CO2 and removing more of a mineral needed for the depth stability of any sea creature that uses a shell like you’ll literally need to decrease the depth that they can exist at to do this process
