The other big takeaway from that thread is that "ironic" zoomer shitposters who love this kind of trolling love to do really fucked up things online (that they accuse others of doing as well) and take it way too far. Namely, the first part of post 3 and how it mentioned just a few of the fucked up things that unfunny zoomers do.Which isn't a surprise. I knew people who were acting the same way back in the Skype days (and these people have existed for a while, see PrankNet as an example), except these people take it to levels of far that you'd think were impossible 10 years ago. @graf @Jim Good idea. For legal purposes, whenever you do that, make sure you document the exact timestamp and URL when you exported it. If it gets to the point of being a court exhibit, they usually require that, the name of the person who did the export, and a small affidavit from that person saying they made the copy.(in the US anyway, I assume Canadian courts have similar rules of evidence for site captures)

There were people who saw these prank calls as peak trolling so I wouldn't be shocked if it influenced some of these types. After getting attention enough from people, it turned out that at least a few members had prior criminal records. The leader was never charged but he laid low when journalists began to visit his house irl asking for comments.That's just one example but there were plenty of groups like that which would go to the borderline of too far, and so these discord zoomers would see them and would try to do worse shit for efame. Same with YouTube pranksters and the like too.

Pretty much all of these types are, from those trolling Chris Chan to get a spot in "christory" to the prank call group I mentioned which didn't care until the heat level got literally too high to continue. They don't just do it for the thrill of it, but also for the attention. The backgrounds vary but the one constant is they've never had to face consequences IRL or online for their behavior. In a few of them the individuals involved have been band/theater kids living in McMansions and having spoiled lives. Other times they're retards left to their own devices.

The larger dilemma is probably people even being able to listen to advice, or even acknowledge they have mental health problems going on. There’s such an extreme arrogance and narcissism that I assume became more ubiquitous from the rise of algorithmic social media.If you don’t validate their outlook, they’ll just disappear and find a crowd of similarly mentally ill people to find validation, or go through expendable people to temporarily lean on. And on social media, there’s always an abundant supply of social validation.There was something recent with a family member where even the ‘professional help’ had given the prognosis that there’s no way to help them, until they finally accept help. Whereas with narcassistic personality disorder, they’ll typically have to completely crater their life and lose everything, before they can start to admit some fault.There’s quite a long list of people I’ve been patient with across some years, that are just so helpless in that they ‘want’ to be miserable, they staunchly avoid changing anything in their habits, and they keep telling themselves that they’re a victim with zero autonomy over their situation.I wish I could figure out the secret words needed to correct someone’s outlook, but at this point it’s like a language barrier. @arcanicanis @MordredSimp @PhenomX6 @ehhh some rich parents who recognized their progeny were fucked up (either because of them, through their flawed rearing of them, or neglect of them, or something else) would send them to bootleg boot camps to force them to change before it was too late.buuuut… idk if that is as effective when the “people” that control the political sphere (where culture is dictated from) do not care how fucked up you are as long as you don’t challenge their power.if there isn’t a society that cultivates good virtues, getting beaten upside the head til you recognize those virtues gets reversed after the person gets out potentially pretty easily. or it’s at least far more vulnerable to it.this is a multi-generational problem that nobody with the power or influence to do it cares to actually do it.. or if they want to, can’t get the other factions to agree.

The problem with sending their kids to bootleg boot camp (as you mentioned in the end) is that there's a non-zero chance that the kids will absolutely hate their parents, especially if said parent is a catlady who watches Dr Phil/Oprah/Lifetime movies and has that very warped worldview. I've seen comments of kids who especially hated their parents after finding out their idea to "fix" them was something literally from a lifetime movie 1:1.And distrust of your own parents is a key ingredient to trooning or being manipulated by internet groomers/others who pretend to like you while shitting on you behind your back. That's why troons are so effective, because a lot of the times the groomers are not some balding 50 year old with "something cool" but someone your age, also extremely online, and also who happens to have the same parent issues you do.So if you have identity issues and you're seeing others get asspats by Twitter for doing this drug or picking this identity, well you know the rest.

All of them are from kids with parents who cry out about trust issues as they burn bridges with their kids, or parents who blame the darn shiny box on their kid not talking to them.

If it was proper modern mental health treatments and actually helping people such institutions would help. Keep mentally ill people off the streets and help them stay in a support network of doctors and professionals. Of course Modern Society doesn't see such a thing as feasible, but it accomplishes 2 fold, helping mentally ill people get the help and treatment they need, to eventually potentially go back into society as healthy people and clear up alot of the homeless population. As the Homeless problem is also a symptom of the Mental Health crisis we face.The issue is that we don't name the Mental Health Crisis and work towards that, people care more about how THEY Feel than how others might feel.

That's how my parents were, and the next thing you know the kids end up as how a friend described it: "Catholic School Girls Gone Wild". No really. Then, when the time comes they need you to NOT rebel, they stop putting out that kind of media because it could be interpreted that rebelling against the newer overlords might be seen as good (see: their eternal handwringing over old school “leftists” who took up the anti-segregation, anti-apartheid rhetoric and applied it universally, including against Israel).Kids should not be exposed to so much of this, but to not inform them why they should not see this stuff.. parents need the vocabulary and information to be able to do so when it comes up because it will come up because of how pervasive gay jewish media is.I remember arguing 12 years ago, before I was jew-wise, with feminists over their complaints that “it’s OK if men are highly promiscuous, yet it is not when women are, this is a double standard!”, and at the time I argued wrongly. So what the smart kids did was they'd take a second old or burner phone, lock it in, and carry their phone to class.
