@crawshaw Raspberry Pis locally, Minecraft/web/etc. server at the the holiday place (which has fiber internet).

@crawshaw first up: immediately! I was maintaining a wireguard server on digital ocean for ~4 years before I switched.Second: it’s so simple I put a small computer in my in laws house and taught them how to use it as an exit node to access British TV abroad. I also shared the node into my tailnet so I can maintain it if need be 😎

@crawshaw The moment I installed it on a second device :-) It instantly replaced the shonky IPsec setup on my home router and the need for spinning up a VPS with Streisand every time I travelled.

@crawshaw when I realized I could extend my home lab with a bunch of VPS and I could firewall them with the provider’s tools (and not with iptables & friends).

@crawshaw When I needed to test a peer to peer application on a local network while working remotely. Was amazing to be able to tell colleagues to install, login with G, and boom, we were testing. Amazing first experience.
