Haven't talked about Colemak-DH in a while, so if anyone is wondering, I am doing good progress on it! I am daily driving the layout and I can write at an okay speed, but still not as fast as QWERTY yet. I still rely on a paper reference, I can write without one, but not very reliably.I'm thinking about starting to occasionally remove the reference to start learning to use the layout blindly!

@thoughtfuldragon@blahaj.zone It's way more comfy mainly!I used to type on QWERTY with only two fingers which was not very comfortable. I'd like to experiment with keyboard-heavy workflows like Vim and such, but it just didn't feel good with the way I typed. So yeah, ergonomics were the main reason. Colemak-DH feels soooo much more pleasant, especially thanks to the angle mod. I might get an ortholinear keyboard next though which should be even nicer.Really I mostly wanted to learn to use all five fingers, but I thought "well if I'm gonna relearn to use the keyboard, I may as well learn a better layout while I'm at it".I think it was easier to learn Colemak-DH that way, because I am starting from a blank slate. Because my two typing methods are so different, my QWERTY muscle memory doesn't interfere with the Colemak-DH one. I can still use QWERTY just fine, but only with my old two finger style.
