I know I shouldn't but I can't help laughing when I see "Breaking News: X" and I saw X reported about eight hours ago on social media. It's been that way for a decade or more but I still marvel at it. Obviously it's happening now in a different quarter of cyberspace than it was originally...Then, quite often, the Breaking News turns out to be based on the exact report I saw eight hours previously but it's been garbled or modified by conservative journos, and weeks later you find out that the original report was accurate. Not saying believe everything you read but rather the opposite. First-hand reports are no less reliable than fourteenth-hand reports from Honest Rupert's Media Empire Inc so if you want to know what's happening, see reports as data with varying weights according to source reliability and not gospel truth.Slight tangent: I just saw a mainstream outlet report that Wagner are trying to take Rostov-on-Don. Sigh.

@grayface_ghost I've gotten most of my news from the webbyness for a few years. I don't bother watching the news anymore, partially because in the UK there isn't a 'news source' that can be relied upon in any way shape or form.
